What led us to Skyhawk Studios initially was an article we discovered on their very helpful and informative blog. Graphic designer Jeff Hawkins (now Skyhawk Studios) has worked with me on dozens of projects over many years.  Jeff is a gifted collaborator and that’s my first requirement – he’s great to work with.  He’s creative but he’s also creatively flexible.  So we always figure a way to get the job done .  Finally, he is grounded in the basics – you don’t have to explain to him that these web pages and brochures have to accomplish something!  I’ve had some horrible experiences through the years:  puffed up bills, condescending artists with goofy ideas – you name it.  I’m glad to be back working with Jeff!

I really like the job that SkyHawk Studios did on our website. In honesty (something everyone who has worked with me knows) I am not that easy to work with. The designer came out to visit our facility for several days, took photos, and took the time to really understand what we do and communicate it. I had hired and paid for several web site designs before him and no one could do anything I felt confident of.

What a great experience. I entered into the arrangement with SkyHawk Studios to design a logo for my restaurant with some trepidation, not due to any lack of faith in Jeff and Sherry, but that I was clueless. We are a small, grass-roots non-profit organization serving veterans. Skyhawk Studios supports our mission by donating their design work (professional flyers, posters, and quarter page ads). Even though they didn’t charge us a penny for their services, their graphic design was flawless and professional. Their posters and ads were bright, appealing and legible, while capturing the spirit of our mission. They responded to our need for materials on a very short turnaround and they helped educate us when we didn’t understand how to articulate what we needed.

I hired SkyHawk Studios for a logo, business card, product photography, bottle label, and tri-fold brochure for a new skin care product we are putting on the retail market. I can say this, Sherry and Jeff were able to jump in to my not-so creative head and pull out what I wanted, then polish it up until it shimmered. The Professional Organizer business is a very niche market. And, the Professional Organizer training and education field is even more so. We contacted Skyhawk Studios for fresh eyes, expertise to help us identify what makes us unique, and to clarify our branding strategy. Sherry and Jeff quickly pulled it all together for us – identifying our unique qualities, defining our tagline, and designing our fun, yet highly credible logo and training certification seals. Jeff and Sherry are delightful to work with, as well as professional and efficient. We are very pleased with the results and proud of our new brand.

This review comes on the heels of my third project with SkyHawk Studios. Previously, they had designed web site logos for me. The work this time included a logo, sure. Upping the ante, however, I went for a site background image too. Since I am not graphically competent, I appreciated how they took my not-fully-formed ideas and rendered them as stunning images. These are two friendly and talented professionals. If there is a “trick” to working with them, I think it is in telling them, as clearly as you can, what you want, then getting out of the way and letting them create it for you. I plan to engage SkyHawk Studios again for my future web site projects.
